SA> For me, it is this overall *lack* of justification that brings me to

SA> This is not to say, in my opinion, that Nowhere Man's story is based

SA> is, I feel, just a vehicle to get to the real story; that being *the
SA> search* by Tom for an explanation, any explanation, as to why someone
SA> or some group would want to completely destroy his life.
SA> Regarding the negatives. Throughout this series, everyone has tried to
SA> get Tom's negatives, but he has managed to hide them in some pretty
SA> unique places. Besides, he's got the negatives scattered all
SA> throughout the country!
SA> That's why I think this show is truly about *how* one person feels,
SA> and it excels in this. The viewer doesn't get justification as to why
SA> everybody is out to get Tom, because *he* doesn't get any
SA> justification. :)
SA> BTW, since you haven't been watching the series, every character who
SA> has attempted to assist Tom has either been killed or hurt by The
SA> Conspiracy. With the exception of Tom's wife and mother, no other
SA> characters have appeared again in any episode. The wife and mother
SA> characters have appeared in only one other episode since the pilot;
SA> that being the one I told you about.
Did you see it this week? The show has taken an interesting
turn, hasn't it? Tom has been offered leads on how to find the
people who did it to him. Is he going to make use of them?
What will he find in his search, now that he has new clues?
What consequences will there be from Tom's killing the man who
supposedly ordered the erasure of his life?
It left me wanting more!

Good point. Nowhere Man is similar to the Prisoner in many
ways. Babylon 5 has borrowed from it too, including the famous
fish salute and the phrase "Be Seeing You."
Prisoner influenced my opinions on those concepts as well. He
fought against being a number and won(maybe). He cries of "I am
not a number, I am a free man!" became my battle cry.
Nowhere Man deals with the subject of Identity. Tom Veil has
had his taken away from him, and wants it back. If he ever gets
it remains to be seen.

CM> Hi. I am a new "kid" on this system, I just wanted to say I agree

CM> getting into Space:Above and Beyond. I really liked Babylon 5 but I

The Alien Nation movies have been good. I'm also pleased with
Space:Above and Beyond. When I first heard about it, I was
skeptical, but the series has turned out to be great. Alot of
action, and great characters too.
Babylon 5 is another show I'm really into. I try not to miss
it. All of these series have been successful not imitating
Trek. However, you'll run into people here and in other places
who won't accept anything that isn't Trek connected. If that's
how they want to be, so be it.
As for cable TV, when I moved to this city(Baton Rouge,
Louisiana) a few weeks ago, I called to find out about getting
cable. $26/month, $20 installation. After calling them and
being placed on hold, I was told to beep my area representative,
when I wanted to set up a day to set it up(one week from the day
I called), I was told that it couldn't be done, because of it
depended on what the office would assign her. I was told I
could get it installed the next day, but my work schedule
wouldn't allow that. I've dealt with other cable companies that
have been accomodating, but these people weren't even trying to
work with me. What I decided to do was go to Radio Shack and
give them $27 for an antenna to put on top of the TV, which
cleared up my reception problems. I don't miss cable at all, I
can get all 6 commercial networks and a good PBS station(that
has Dr. Who, Red Dwarf, and some Britcoms) clearly, so what else
do I need?
CM> I've been disappointed the last couple weeks that Voyager was rerun
CM> and I missed DS9.
Voyager was finally a new episode this week. Good episode too,
directed by Jonathan Frakes.
DS9 this week was the second half of a 2 parter that was
fantastic! Catch it in reruns or get a tape from someone if you
can.
Welcome to the echo, I'm sure you'll have a good time in here.

Attention DOS, OS/2 and Windows users who are Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Buffs:
I've released a series of DOS/DOS4GW, OS/2 and Windows programs that may
be of interest to you! They're called "Automated Episode Guides" because
they make it easy to sift through the info for each episode of various
popular TV shows. Currently, there are SEVERAL different A.E.G.'s available
as described below, but I will be releasing more in the future.
What they are: The OS/2 version is a 32 bit text mode menu-driven program
that automates the process of viewing information on popular television shows.
The DOS versions are 32 bit Extended DOS/DOS4GW text mode programs that are
almost identical to the OS/2 Text version. The 16 bit Windows & 32 bit OS/2
Presentation Manager programs take full advantage of the easy-to-use features
of their respective operating systems (drop-down menus, dialogue boxes, etc.)
The TV shows that are currently available (the final two ##s denote the
current version number which may vary as I release program updates):
