NS> the eighteen million people that live in this area. No high

I grew up in the LA area and have done fairly extensive research on
the history of its water supply, including the LA conspiracy to
fraudulently seize the Owens Valley water supply, and the
preparations of the Arizona Navy to defend their own water. I have
not come across any references to the aquaduct requiring electrical
pumping, but I have seen references to its being a gravity feed
system. If you could point out a way I could go directly to the
source for information about the use of electricity in the aquaduct,
I'd enjoy learning that information.

No one, either male or female can be stereotyped into Webster's
definitions of masculine and feminine. Both men and women can and do
display characteristics that one would define for members of the
opposite sex from Webster's. In this day and age, and I hope in the
23rd century that both men and women can feel liberated enough to be
themselves. It is the kind of narrowmindedness displayed by Webster's
definitions that continues the misunderstandings between the sexes.
Today's woman can't afford to be weak and submissive and have a decent
career and family, too. You can't expect a woman of the 23rd century to
be either. Janeway is a strong woman, yet caring and
compassionate--fine human qualities, I would say.

Having found your resource on New Orleans fandom outlets while "surfing", I'd
like to share the following information with you that might be of interest to
folk who read your excellent and informative pages. Indeed, the event
described below would scarcely take place without the help of numerous
individuals and fan groups in the New Orleans area--so that, although the
convention takes place in Biloxi, it owes much to New Orleans.
COASTCON is Mississippi's oldest annual festival for science fiction and
fantasy fans from throughout the South--indeed, throughout the country!--and
the largest science fiction convention in the Gulf Coast area, drawing over
1500 people yearly. There's a little something offered for everyone, from
Trekkers to vampires, elves to wookies, aficionados of good books or bad
movies. Designated "Mississippi's Official State Science Fiction Convention"
by proclamation of the state governor in 1989, COASTCON is now gearing up for
its 19th annual event, to be held March 22nd-24th, 1996, at
the Gulf Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in Biloxi.
The convention is sponsored by COASTCON Inc., a nonprofit literary
organization established to promote science fiction, fantasy, and related
literary genres in any form, including written and visual arts, dramatic arts
and interactive fiction. As its major promotional effort, the annual "con"
also actively supports worthwhile causes such as the South Mississippi AIDS
Task Force (to which COASTCON is the largest contributor). This year, the
organization will also be working with the Mississippi Library Commission's
Braille and Talking Book program, which helps to reach the visually-impaired,
supplying them with books in a form they can use.
As Publicist for this year's convention, I cordially invite you to contact me
for further information about COASTCON, its guests and its activities.

Ummm, I'm not real sure. I've already deleted my other mail packets, so
I can't even go back and look. I think I was saying something about his
voice on gargoyles...or was it that we were talking about Deadly Games?
Oh I know, I think I said something about wondering when Leonard Nimoy
was gonna show up on that show. I accidentally got DG and LC mixed up. JF
and his wife were on L&C...not DG.
