bring the ship to Earth in 72 hours to study its secrets and learn how
to use it - against other races or fellow Earth inhabitants if
necessary. Realizing the danger surrounding Dr. Kirkish, Delenn makes
plans to gether into Minbari space for protection.
Officials begin to covertly search out those with information. Night
Watch Security suspects the captain and several crew members of having
their own agend, and instruct Zack Allan to confront Sheridan.
Sheridan makes the decision to try to prevent Earth from getting
their hands on the Shadow ship. Along with Delenn, he commands the
Minbari ship White Star into Earth-controlled space with the intentions
of finding and destroying the vessel before it leaves Ganymede. When
the White Star emerges from its jump point, it sets of all long-range
scanners, sending a Shadow ship on the attack. The White Star fires
upon it, causing little damage. Captain Sheridan orders the ship to go
inside the thick atmosphere of nearby Jupiter, hoping the extreme
atmosphere and gravity will help destroy the Shadow vessel. Venturing
depeer into space, the White Star's outer hull begins to buckle, but not
before the Shadow implodes from the severe gravitational pull.
Attempting to get out of the atmosphere, they encounter the destroyer
Agamemnon, which instructs the White Star to surrender. Knowing they
will be blamed for the attack, Sheridan finds himself in a dilemma -
fire upon his old ship or surrender. Left with little choice, he
decides to take a chance and opens up a jump gate inside the atmosphere,
something never done before, and successfully makes it back to Babylon

That was a new one on me as well. Oh yeah, I'm an EQ fan, I've got all of the

the comic book store to pick up the last two issues, I'll probably be too late.

Nicole,

It's been established in an episode I saw before Christmas, that Tom's
wife and mother are in on the Conspiracy. I don't remember the name of
the episode (I always seem to miss the first couple of minutes of ALL TV
shows!). Since I don't know if you've seen the episode, I won't get
into details here -- wouldn't want to spoil it for 'ya on the reruns.

RL> I would appreciate further discussion here about Tom Veil and his
RL> predicament in the series - I think we just might have a "sleeper"
RL> here which could become much more successful with greater fan
RL> attention.

Robert,

I have been watching "Nowhere Man" since the very beginning. I
absolutely LOVE this show!

My father started watching the series with me when it first came on, but
he soon dropped away because it was "too cerebral" for him. He really
didn't understand the arc of the series. Any sub-plots, twists, turns,
or continuity items had to be explained to him about three times before
he showed any signs of recognition. I know a few people who WON'T watch
the show because it makes them feel uneasy; like they see too much of
themselves in the Tom Veil character!

Personally, I hope the the producers DON'T change the show to make it
more appealing to the mass market. I think that it would lessen the
quality of the arc, probably making the Tom Veil character look really
ridiculous in the process.

CO> I think people that are trek fans, should stop complaining about the
CO> technobabble. And have gripe with everything you see. It is pretty

Chris,

Then I wouldn't advise you to visit any of the Star Trek echoes
elsewhere in FIDONet. They are just chocked full of technobabble
gripes! :)

In all seriousness, any science fiction work is going to have its share
of fans who raise the "what if..." questions. It's natural. With respect
to Star Trek, the original series (Kirk, Spock, etc.) was written
without any explanations of the "Treknology" because it could be twisted
slightly in order to fit the plans of the story line. No big deal; the
technobabble was purposely left vague for that reason.

However, the new series of Star Trek (TNG, DS9, and Voyager) are written
under a different set of guidelines, which states that writers of the
episodes TRY to adhere to a "technical manual." In effect, the
"treknology" can no longer be twisted to fit whatever the story line
calls for. As such, there are fans who delight in picking up these
inconsistencies when they do emerge, and debate them to death! :)

I agree with you, the debates and gripes about the technical aspects of
Star Trek should not take place. But then again, most of the episodes of
Star Trek are pretty lame when it comes to character developments and
interactions, so all that's left to debate or discuss is the
"treknology." :)

I dunno man, i have to think about it. And by the way, how are you
able to spend so much time here and other places, that i see your name.
You should try jungle, and get hooked up to the star trek majornet

that is your choice. Ummm, i just wonder how you get to spend so much
time everywhere, since i see your name a lot. The only other time i
don't see your name, is when all the places are dead, and your name is
just not around, indicating you havn't been near your computer for
quite a long time.
