pilot and one other I've only seen each episode once, on the original
airing. I'm sure I will get some minor points incorrect, but that's
ok... I do have them all recorded (except one), but haven't rewatched
them yet.

There are some spoilers, as I said, but most are about the first
episode just to get the story going.

1. Aug 28, 1995 "Absolute Zero" [90 minutes]

Tom and his wife are at an opening of a showing of Tom's photos.
Afterward they go out for dinner. Tom goes into the bathroom, and
when he comes out another couple is seated at his table. The maitre'
d, a personal friend, claims not to know him and says that the other
couple always sits there on this day of the week (I think). Tom
thinks it's a joke, but ends up getting thrown out of the restaraunt.
He makes his way to his house and his key won't fit in the door. He
rings the doorbell and Allyson answers, claiming not to know him and
telling him to leave. Then Allyson's "husband" comes to door with a
gun. Tom finally leaves. [this is getting too long, I'll try to skim
more.]

No one will admit to knowing Tom. He's bank says he doesn't exist.
At some point he is taken to a mental institution. It turns out one
of the doctors, Dr. Belamy, is working for "them." At some point Tom
sees Allyson talking with Dr. Belamy. After Tom escapes from Belamy
he goes to see his estranged mother, who it turns out is on his
deathbed. Even so, when questioned she claims to have no son. Ends
with Tom wandering out on a highway in the middle of nowhere.

Wonderful directing in this episode. A wonderful "shower scene"
with a twist.

  2. Sep 4, 1995 "Turnabout"

I don't remember exactly how, but Tom manages to end up at a facility
controlled by "them," and poses as Dr. Belamy. He ends up being made
to help erase someone elses life. Of course, in the end it ends up
being a setup, with the intended "victim" being one of them. She's
supposed to get his guard down so he'll confide in her.

  3. Sep 11, 1995 "The Incredible Derek"

I have little memory of this one. Tom ends up helping a blind kid
who's some sort of faith healer.

  4. Sep 18, 1995 "Something About Her"

My personal favorite episode. Tom is kidnapped and drugged and hooked
up to a kind of "virtual reality" thing. Memories of a whole other
life are fed into him. He's given a new lover who's goal, of course,
is to make him trust her so he'll confide in her. Lots of mind games.
Great stuff.

  5. Sep 25, 1995 "Paradise On Your Doorstep"

Tom ends up at New Phoenix, a colony of other people just like Tom,
who's lives have been erased. To become "one of them" he must tell
the others about his old life and why it was erased. Tom, of course,
thinks they're part of the conspiracy as well and won't tell them. In
the end we don't really know whether or not this was true. A very
"Prisoner" like episode it seems, though I've only seen two or three
Prisoner episodes.

  6. Oct 9, 1995 "The Spider Webb"

Bizzare! Tom's in a bar watching TV and he sees his life as portrayed
in the pilot episode played out as a local access TV show!! As the
episode goes on we see parts of the pilot redone with different
actors. Then we see events happen on the "show" followed by Veil
doing these same things. (Or was it the other way around...?) Of
course, the final scene where the TV actor playing Tom's life gets
caught doesn't happen in "real life." The real Tom outsmarts them.

  7. Oct 23, 1995 "A Rough Whimper of Insanity"

Tom meets up with an introverted computer genius who hasn't been out
of his house in years. He's able to hack into the super secret files
that show that Tom Veil really does exist. He and Tom end up going
into virtual reality (moreso than in "Something About Her") to get
access to the files, but the bad guys find them before they're able to
read them.

The title is an anagram for "information superhighway."

  8. Oct 30, 1995 "The Alpha Spike"

Tom poses as a janitor at some sort of private school where the kids
are being brainwashed by subliminal messages while they sleep.
Doesn't have all that much to do with the conspiracy until, of course,
they find him towards the end.

  9. Nov 6, 1995 "You Really Got A Hold Me"

Dean Stockwell guests as a man who's life was "erased" 20 years ago or
so. He's "Tom in 20 years," dejected, and ready to give up. He
brings Tom so a secret building that houses hundreds of computers. He
says it used to be where they did all this nasty erasing stuff, but
it's now abandoned.

 10. Nov 13, 1995 "Father"

Tom ends up in the same town where his father now lives. He's father
had left his family when Tom was young. His appearance has been
changed, I'm not sure the reason given. Vanity, I think. Many clues
are given for Tom to think that his father is part of the conspiracy.

 11. Nov 20, 1995 "An Enemy Within"

Another episode not much related to the overall story. More like a
Fugitive episode where he helps someone with a problem. Here it's a
woman, and a town, who's small farms are being bought out by a huge
co-op farm.

 12. Nov 27, 1995 "It's Not Such A Wonderful Life"

Tom gets his life back! Or does he. Tom is found by people claiming
to be part of the government. They say they're about to arrest the
ringleaders of the bad guys, and Tom is key witness for the
prosecution. All they need from him to nail it shut are those darn
negatives... Allyson is back, but she never really explains what made
her go along with them. His mother, who he thought died back in the
first episode, is alive. (I swear it's a different actress, though,
as she seemed much older in the pilot.) The ending is rather obvious,
so I won't bother with it. Interesting, but somewhat predictable
concidering they couldn't have the series end already!

That's it so far. I'm hoping for new episodes soon. All in all, it's
an interesting show, but little to nothing is revealed in each
episode. I guess they're planning for a long run, but it gets a
little frustrating.

LB> I'm afraid I don't understand "Polyanna?" Who is that?

TR> Re: Old Disney movies. You can probably find it at a
 TR> blockbuster.

I'll elaborate.

Pollyanna was a little girl who could find something to be glad about in
anything that happened.

Her father was a very poor Missionary. She wanted a doll very badly and since
everything they got came in donation barrels, she asked the donater for one.
When the next barrel arrived there was no doll in it...just a pair of crutches.
At first she was upset but then decided that she could be "glad" because
she didn't need to use the crutches.

When her father died, she was sent to live with her rich aunt (who wasn't very
thrilled with the idea). She was put in a very tiny attic room with old
cast-off furniture and poor ventilation. She was "glad" because she'd never
had a whole room all to herself and that, being so high up in the house, she
had a very good view.

Get the picture?

Therefore, a Pollyanna is someone who can always find the best in anything and
tends to wear rose-colored glasses.
