From a woman with an overactive imagination.

BW> Than what did happen at three mile Island?????.
TR> A leak. A very minor leak, to tell you the truth. As I've said
TR> three or four times so far, you'd get more radiation from just sitting
 TR> in the capital building.

Question what they going to do with all the radiactive stuff in
the plant. for instance the water. If it was just a 'minor' leak why
isn't it still being used. Or can they not fix that minor leak.

TR> Who? Greenpeace? ROFL! I worked for them for a while, until I
TR> discovered that they occasionally "bury" information which hurts their
 TR> causes.

No actually teachers. Some from highschool others from Upward Bound
And some from college. They show me both sides of the
story. They're is nothing wrong with greenpeace. They
are trying their best to turn things that are negative into something
positive, who are the ROFL? As for burying info which hurts their causes
everyone does that, especially the major business.

Despite all the safe guards and etc, and despite all the energy that we can
get, I'm frightened by the dangerousness nuclear energy. The energy does
not even come from the split atoms. The electricity is made form steam.
The steam comes from the water cooling down the core reactor. The steam
turns all these doohickies, that turn turbines with magnets in them. I don't
think the risk is worth it. I do not agree either with coal or fossil fuel
despite what others think. I think that they're are much more safer and
saner ways of getting energy. wind, solar, geothermal, and hydroelectric,
like niagra falls. I don't like the though of using stuff that can level
cities and leave behind destruction and death even years later. It can
infilltrate ground water if people are not careful. etc etc. We can't
even handle fossil fuels without hurting the enviroment and people.
To keep in topic and this is also something that has been in my mind since
I read the comic book, Zealot. She was saying to one of her foes Prometheous
about Nuclear energy. "Humans aren't ready to handle even something primitive
as nuclear weapons." yes I know weapons aren't the same as the plants, but
in my mind they are, same energy, it is a fire, and fire is a dangerous
thing once out of control. It doesn't take much either to get it out of
control. For me the cons outway the pros for nuclear energy. Besides maybe
just maybe we are upsetting another of earths cycles. We don't even truly
understand her most basic of cycles. Things like the water, wind, food
cycles.

... I live in a world of my own, but you're welcome to visit.

From astride a Pale Horse, ųANATúô heard...

PA> Has it ever occurred to you that this planet can only support
PA> so many lifeforms? War is just a method by which the population
PA> is decreased, as is illness.

BW> actually it has, when i am in one of my morbid moods. I agree with
BW> you there i just do not want to. I am an optamist and an idealist at
BW> heart. at present I cannot come up with a better solution. Then again
BW> I am not so sure I believe in darwins theory of evolution.

I'm an idealist of the highest order and it's plain to me that,
due to the advances in medicine and refinement of food and fuel,
humanity (as a whole) is slowly becoming stupider and weaker.

Honestly speaking, (and think this one *all the way* through)
what would you do if, when you woke up in the morning, there was
no electricity - anywhere in the world?

PA> Call it God, Goddess, Fate or Space Aliens; the fact remains
PA> that when too many people are gathered in one place, there
 PA> cannot be serenity.

BW> how many people exacly is too many. in many other cultures other than
BW> ours, people can gather and live in a peaceful, relatively,
BW> coexhistance. it all deals with how comfortable space is to you,
BW> privacy, etc etc. I guess space is what is gonna decide for us, how we

No. It depends on how willing you are to share the land with
others. Is it easier for you to go out with 10 others and grow
and harvest corn, or is it easier for you to take the corn from
        another?

BW> will go about exploring space or how we build space stations. I also
BW> think war has a lot more to it than people being cramned into each
BW> other. granting that is probably one factor, war is a more complex
BW> issue. but to get this message back on topic, how bout looking at some
BW> issues that a lot of sci fi and fantasy authors usually go on saying
BW> are the reasons for their wars? how bout Raymond E. Feist., that
BW> would probably illustrate space, yet they had the power to go to other
 BW> worlds with that one.

Nope. Never read any Feist Howzabout Harry Turtledove's
"WorldWar" series (book II should be out in paperback soon)... 6
months after Pearl Harbor - the Aliens invade. It's one hell of
an examination of socio-political standards and their positive
        and negative uses.

PA> Nuclear power and nuclear waste *are not* going to kill this
PA> planet. Humanity *is not* going to kill this planet.

BW> raised eyebrows at the mention of above, sorry getting
 BW> cynical.

 PA> The Vogons will...

 BW> ?????, who art, they???

        awwww!
        c'mon!
Don't tell me you've never heard the radio program, read
the book, seen the BBC series, heard the album, read the
"photonovel" of "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the
                Galaxy"!!!

 RL> NOWHERE MAN FANS:

RL> I've just discovered the series Nowhere Man starring Bruce Greenwood
RL> as the "man on the run," Tom Veil.

Warning, don't read this message if you don't want to be spoiled by
information on episodes you may not have seen...

I will try to answer your questions, but if the answers are vague or
non-existant it's only because the answers have not been given in the
show. I've seen all 12 episodes to date. At the bottom I'll try to
do a short synopsis of each episode.

RL> Now, what I'd like to know is more about the story line to date.

RL> 1. Who is this group which seems to want to use any method to get at
RL> Tom's film and his diary?

Absolutely unknown. There is obviously some sort of group out to find
Tom and get his negatives, but next to nothing is known about them.
They do seem to have control of some sort of paramilitary group.

RL> 2. Am I correct in concluding that, at one time, Tom Veil was placed
RL> in an insane asylum by this group in an effort to coerce him into
 RL> cooperating?

Yes, in the first episode. I'll explain more below.

RL> 3. Is there anything else in Tom's set of negative that the "group"
RL> seems to want to get from him?

It has yet to be revealed.

RL> 4. What role, if any has his wife played in this conspiracy. I.E. do
RL> you get the impression she is some innocent victim too or is she
RL> part of the process of "taking out" Tom Veil?

Hard to say. She's been in two episodes so far (well, three, but one
was just a fantasy). In both it's possible that she's part of the
conspiracy, but we can't tell if she's doing it voluntarily or if
she's being coerced. Honestly, it's hard to believe she's being
coerced, yet it's hard to see why she would do it otherwise.

RL> 5. At any point in the series, has there appeared ANYONE who is
RL> playing an on-going supporter for Tom? If there has not, he really
RL> IS up to his a** in "alligators!"

Other than Allyson being in two episodes, and a few flashbacks, I
don't think anyone other than Veil has even been in more than one
episode.

RL> I would appreaciate any input you can provide for me to help me
 RL> get "up to speed."

Here's my summaries. Please take in to account that, other than the
