Shetterly's _Elsewhere_ at the moment. Reminds me of my college days with a
batch of elves thrown in. I do wonder when he's going to do something
interesting with the magic works sorta/tech works sorta milleau though - thus
far with only minor modifications the entire story could have been told in the
real world. Well, Berkeley, anyway. :->
As for TV shows, about the only thing I watch with any regularity is Babylon 5,
and it's in reruns for the next few months :(. Ah well, all that nailbiting
about whether it gets renewed keeps my fingernails short enough for guitar
playing, so there's a use for *everything.* Also maybe this means my
imagination will let me get back to work on my own worlds instead of figuring
out what JMS is up to.
(Or to figuring out some of the latest plot twists in the local Other Suns
campaign. Something that happened 15 real years ago may be about to return to
importance. And since I'm the only player involved from that time period, my
character may get the fun of having to explain something that makes the most
recent plot twists in B5 look tame. Nothing like time travel to tie you up in
knots.)

Despite lieing about it for years my local cable monopoly has never gottn the
SF channel and all I've seen of it are bits on Intro. All they show are old 70's
series, most of which sucked and still do.
Does anyone here have the sf channel? If so does it do anything but show old
shows? Does it have Japanimation? Original programming? whatever?

I have to disagree. TOL, both versions, went farther than either version of The
Twilight Zone, IMO, and have a strong pulse of horror running through them.

**The "SciFi Series Collection" is different short lived series. In
the past few months there's been The Fantastic Journey, Planet Of The
Apes, and currently they're showing Something Is Out There.
Other shows that are weekly, rather than daily, are Forever Knight
(Mondays) and Kolchak: The Night Stalker (Fridays). Fridays also has
a few "original" programs like C/Net Central, SciFi Buzz and Inside
Space.
Saturday has a lot of movies, as well as The Odyssey, My Secret
Identity, Dracula: The Series, Swamp Thing, and Thriller (I must make
a note to watch that one!).
Sunday has movies as well as Space: 1999, Starman, UFO, Alien Nation,
and War Of The Worlds.
There are occasional original movies, but mostly they're just older
ones.
Anyway, I don't watch it all that much, but looking in detail at what
I just posted there are a few things I'd like to see.
As I said, Something Is Out There is currently airing. It was a
mini-series and then short lived series (kinda like "V") back in 1988.
I'm rather enjoying it. Planet Of The Apes was pretty good as well.
The Fantastic Voyage, well, sucked. I'm interested to see what
they'll show after SIOT is over. I know they were showing Max
Headroom, but I don't know what other shows they have lined up.
