Either that or the guy who "treated" it in the previous episode was better than

Betty 1 and her clone Betty 2, Palindrome (Quark's hyperactive boss), the

If you ever run across the fan-fiction version of B&tB/QL crossover,
please post the source here... I would really like to read that.
Also, are you familiar with the SCI-FI SPOTLIGHT that Gary was
talking about? I have never heard of it, and it sounds like it
could be interesting as well. I used to subscribe to DATAZINE
(I think that was the name), and since it was phased out, I have
never heard of a replacement. DataZine used to list fan publication
of all kinds, as well as how to order, and pricing info. They also
briefly listed the contents, and any restrictions (18 or over, etc.)
on ordering. They also listed upcoming SF&F media projects, and some
of the rumors(IIRC). Does this Sci-Fi Spotlight do these things? Or
are there other fan publications that do have this stuff?
Thanks,
Debbie

I belong to a local science fiction club and we have a convention every year.
We invite a lot of authors and I try to read as much as I can by the various
guests. This year our GOH is Michael Swanwick and I have been searching out his
work. I am willing to give anyone a read if i like the idea behind a book and
can get past the first 1/4 of the book.

If I remember correctly, Sargent Zim is Black. As is Juan Rico, but with

Yes, I think with his style of acting, Ironside would be a pretty good Zim.

PARSEC is proud to announce its Second Annual Science
Fiction writing contest, in conjunction with ConFluence '96.
PARSEC, the Pittsburgh area science fiction club, is offering
a $100 cash prize to the best fantasy or SF short story.
This year's theme is "Forged in Iron;" therefore each
short story submitted must feature "Iron" in some way, shape
or form.
The best story will be published in the ConFluence '96
program book. Stories must be 3500 words or shorter.
There is NO entry fee.
ConFluence is the annual Pittsburgh area science fiction
and fantasy conference. ConFluence '96 will be held from July
26-28, 1996 at the Sheraton Hotel in Mars, Pa. Our guest of honor
is Nebula award winner Michael Swanwick. Dozens of other professional
writers, editors and artists will also attend. The conference
attracts more than 300 attendees from all over the Midwest.
The stories will be judged by members of the club. At the
club's discretion, the second place winner may also receive
a cash prize and be published in the program book. All
publication rights revert to the author after Confluence.
This contest is open to anyone (pro or amateur) who submits
a story of the correct length, and meets the topic
restrictions. The manuscript must be double spaced, the
title must appear on the top of each page and each page
must be numbered. The author's name should not appear
anywhere in the manuscript.
A title page must accompany the manuscript, which includes
the author's name, address, and the title of the story.
Stories may be submitted on a PC or MAC disk in a plain text
format. Remember, the story cannot be longer than
3500 words. If you want your manuscript or disk returned,
include a SASE with your entry. All submissions must be
received by June 15, 1996.
Any manuscripts which do not adhere to the above guidelines
will be returned unread.
Send manuscripts or disks to:
PARSEC Short Story Contest
PO Box 3681
Pittsburgh, PA 15230-3681
Electronic submissions may be sent to

(electronic submissions need not be double-spaced).

I don't know if the one that I caught was the season premier or not
but I was disapointed... to say the least... I think that the biggest
let down was that they didn't dhow where they had slided to at the
end.... it didn't seem finished somehow.......
Do you know if the first episode was the one where most of the males
had died out from a disease, and the planet was populated mainly of
females ?
