vaults at Chaillot. To escape the disastrous present, experiments are
instigated to find some gap in the time continuum. The person chosen for
the test (Davous Henich) has a recurring memory: as a child he watched a
beautiful girl standing on a jetty at Orly Airport when a man came running
nearby and was killed. The subject is projected into the past to gain a
foothold om time. On the jetty he meets the girl of his dream and they
fall in love.Given a chance to go into the future he refuses and
projects himself back to the woman he adores. He runs to her on the Jetty,
but turns in time to see that one of the underground scientists has followed
him from the future. He is killed.
This captivating short subject, was depicted entirely in still photographs
with added narration. " In this film, visual images literally transcend
time... The commentary on its own stands up to the most through examination
in much the same way as a poem does."(British Monthly Film Bulletin). John
Baxter wrote, in Science Fiction in the Cinima (1970) "[It] is in its way a
perfect literary sf piece, developed like a short story with a detached
narration and brevity of expression most writers would envy... a unique
combination of literature and cinima."
Among the awards bestowed on this film were The Golden Asteroid, the
Trieste Science Film Festival Award, The International Fim Critics'
Prize, Prix Jean Vigo, and the Ducat of Gold at the Mannheim Festival.

JH> In "Caretaker," as well as in "The Cloud," we found out that

JH> After that, she joined the Maquis. I don't remember what she

JH> offered to back her if she chose to reapply to the academy.

Nope, she wasn't thrown out, although I misremembered exactly how much she
completed. In Caretaker, she states to Kim "I actually made it into second year
at the Academy before we, ah, we mutually agreed that it wasn't the place for
me. In Parallax (not The Cloud) she tells Janeway, who she knows has her
records, "The truth is, I quit the Academy because... I realised I couldn't make
it in StarFleet." That's when Janeway tells her about the remarks made by the
professor.

BPL> Consider the upper classes in the Roman Republic and the early Empire.
BPL> Generally two parents, plus professional tutors, servants and slaves.

The upper-class, yes. But have you noticed that remarkably
little is heard of middle & lower-class Romans...

BPL> Yet they turned out a surprisingly high fraction of dangerous
 BPL> sociopaths.

The Elemental name of Lead is Plumbium, hence the Periodic
abbreviation "Pb". The word 'plumbium' is derived from the
Latin root 'plumb' meaning, coincidentally enough, Lead.
Strange as it may seem, the English term 'plumbing' is derived
from the same Latin root. Why? Because the Roman Empire
poisoned its collective self by running all of their cities'
irrigation through LEAD PIPES!!! You'd do better to teach a
quadraplegic to play Jai Alai than to teach a late-era Roman not
        to have a mental disorder!

CO> Well all i have to say, is the guy that married Lucy Lawless must
CO> be having fun for her to dress up like Xena and make his life seem to
CO> be the best thing that ever happened in this life.

I seem to recall reading someplace that Lucy was married and had two
kids. Her beauty is no big surprise; New Zealand produces some of the
 loveliest women on this planet.

CO> What about the actress that plays Gabrielle, and is she married,
CO> what is her true age, and other tid bits that you know.

Renee O'Connor. I think she's in her early twenties, and single.

Best way to find out any of this stuff is to write Universal and ask
 for information.
