Looks that way. The word I am getting is that #5 is definitely the last

DL> I can think of three reasons, all bad: 1) Cheap (read slave)
DL> labor, 2) free land (like they couldn't find a better planet),
DL> and 3) food (remember the original "V" TV movies?)
Somehow I don't think so. Interstellar travel would be such a major
undertaking that any society that could accomplish it wouldn't *need*
cheap labor. Robots would be much less expensive than building an
interstellar ship, making the decades-long journey, and then fighting it
out with the natives on the other end, then shipping either the natives (if
you decide to ship them home) or the products you are using them as labor for
(if you decide to set up production facilities there...) home.
As for land, there's lots of it here in the solar system that you don't
need to fight us over... the Moon comes to mind, as do the asteroids, Mars,
Europa, Titan, and half a dozen other planets/moons/asteroids/and other big
rocks.
And food? Considering the chance that we are biologically compatible
with anything that shows up out of the sky are so remote...

re: women's roles
to the greater part, what you wrote to me is correct... however, genital
fibriliation is not as widespread as you would so put it.... instead of actually
sewing up the vaginal passage, most places (such as mende speaking african
cultures, sierra leone, for example) simply cut off the clitoris with a sharp
rock. i agree, this is quite barbaric and sounds slightly painful. what you
neglected to mention, however, is that at age 13, the males go through a similar
ritual (especially in areas where a secret society is rampant) where the
foreskin is removed... and if you think that the foreskin feels nothing, think
again.
what bothers me about the messages i have recieved is that most of you are
tending to go on and on about subjects which simply do not pertain in a
signifigant way to the brunt of my message, which, for the fifth or sixth time
is this: whether or not women have been slandered, treated like dogs, not
allowed to hunt, raped, pillaged, or sacrificed to a higher deity makes no
difference when cross-referenced with my original thought. what i was saying
was, to put it simply, women are PHYSICALLY WEAKER than men, women are
PSYCHOLOGICALLY less agressive and capable, and women are EMOTIONALLY far less
stable. whether or not this was due to their past, as you have said, really is
not relevant.
