Let me put it this way. If they can successfully coerce his wife's
cooperation without him noticing, then there is no question that they
could deal with him, without bothering with this "erasure" nonsense.
It's not as if this is just an unique stunt carried off because his wife
was always an agent for them, because they have entire towns full of
erased people, while no one else even notices. Why didn't they just
kill him? Or take his wife hostage and threaten to kill her? If they
can control everyone who knows him, why can't they control him? The
only way it makes sense is if they are using magic, and he just happens
to be immune.

FS->!! I just finished watching the most recent episode of American
FS->Gothic, and WOW! do I like this show! Up to this point it's been
FS->good, interesting, creepy, etc. but tonight's episode (called
FS->"Inhumanitas") was awesome. For one thing, it was wonderful to see
FS->Sheriff Buck actually scared. He may be the star, but you just love
FS->to see him lose.

I missed that one, Have to catch it in the re-runs....

FS->Anyway, I don't know how many of you all watch the show, but it seems
FS->to be getting better all the time. Even if you watched the first
FS->episode or two and didn't like it, I'd recommend trying it again. It
FS->just keeps getting better. And I think I've finally found number
FS->five. I've been trying to figure out my favorite five tv shows on the
FS->air currently. Now I have Babylon 5, The X-Files, Homicide: Life on
FS->the Street, Due South, and American Gothic.

Only shows I make time to watch are DS9, X-files and Outer Limits on
friday, Voyoger on Mondays and North of 60 on thursday.

FS->If anyone wants to discuss AG I'd love to hear from you. Oh, btw, I
FS->found an AG homepage. http://www.cbs.com/ag. The episode summaries
FS->aren't very good, but it has a long an interesting Q&A session with
FS->show creator Shawn Cassidy, executive producer Sam Raimi, and star
FS->Gary Cole.

Love to talk more about AG though!

SH>have been a romantic symbol, the color black a symbol of dark and/or
SH>evil intent; so naturally when the two are put together you have a
SH>ready made of dark/evil romance.

But are there really black roses, short of painting or wilting? ;-)

SH>Both B5 and Ranma 1/2 tapped into that background for different
SH>reasons.

Now I don't remember any good reason for B5 to have used that particular
element for the murderer, but since it's back on here in a few days,
maybe I'll see it this time.

And the Black Rose killer wasn't anything like Kodachi. ;)

SH> [> Another anime I ran into had living starships... but again, not
SH> [>even similiar in detail.
SH> Again, no surprise... Living ships have been part of SF/Fantasy

Y'know, I don't think I've run into them very often either.

SH>for a long time, although not common. [The anime wouldn't have been
SH>Tenchi Muyo, would it? ]

No, it was a four-part SF story called MAPS that I've only seen the
first two of so far. The ship seemed metallic, was umpteen-stories high,
and the "brain" was an android in the form of (of course) an attractive
female. When the ship took damage, so did she with wounds erupting
"blood", then healing within a few minutes or so; although they didn't
show the ship self-repairing in a similiar fashion. The ship also
appeared to get blown in half (or at least two pieces) during the second
episode, but they never showed what happened to the android.

The people on the Anime echo seem to enjoy using the characters from
Tenchi Muyo in their messages, but I've yet to see it since it's not
available for rent and the videos were something like $25 or $30 for a
half hour of video. I don't really know much about it - your mention of
living ships in that is the first I've heard of such - so feel free to
describe it and let me know if it's worth the cost. ;)
