too. :->
This event is also notable for being one of the few times in history that a
Shaltuan was actually REAL useful. OK - a bit of history. Shaltuans are an
interesting bunch. They're sorta reptilian, with a strong honor code that
strikes the rest of the universe as a mite dippy, but suits them just fine.
Shaltuans are shorter lived than humans, and there are those who feel that they
probably would be even if they were physically capable of lasting as long, since
they've a tendancy to get into trouble both from the aforementioned honor code,
and because a lot of them like to be pilots. Shaltuan pilots take off and fly
just fine, the problem generally comes in when they land. Mind you, this was
not intentional, it's just that the Dice Know - it seemed like every time a
Shaltuan pilot set out to land something, regardless of who was playing him, the
ship took damage, or actually crashed. The general assumption this bit of
gamelore ultimately led to was that all Shaltuans really, deep down, want to be
kamikaze pilots. Seems about right to me.
Well, Shaltuans are Very Loyal to their commanders. And for her sins, Tuu Ira
Isan had one assigned to the AVS Firewing back before she got tapped by
Paratemporal. So suddenly she had this half-pint lizard samurai at her heels
practically everywhere she went, usually trying to do something that would Not
be a good idea. Like carrying a flag with the pack Tuu symbol on it whilst
following her (something that would have been politically far TOO interesting).
Or.. but I digress. Suffice it to say that he proved a marvelous source of
diplomacy practice all the times it was necessary to turn him away from some bit
of honorable idiocy without his deciding on suicide. At least he never landed
the Firewing - T'Isan assigned him his own personal in-system fighter and gave
him permission to paint his personal symbol on it which kept him out of trouble
for awhile anyway.
Well, when T'Isan walked down that corridor and was ambushed out of the blue by
the guys with the treason charge, the ONLY reason she managed to keep her temper
long enough to realize something weird was up was the fact that that Shaltuan
was RIGHT behind her, and if she'd said one word of anger or resistance, he
would have CERTAINLY come charging to the rescue and got himself killed. So you
see, there's a use for everything... :->

It's my understanding that 22 episodes constitutes a standard season
for many programs. Yes, X-Files may have done 26--but so what? Many
other shows (Sliders, VR5 and a lot non-SF programs) did a lot *less*
than 22 episodes this season.
Sure, I'd like to have more new B5 episodes every season--but given
the short shrift a lot of other series got, I'm content with a "mere"
twenty-two.

I scan through the WHO echo regularly. I'm not only a
Doctor Who and Red Dwarf fan, but I kinda like that Steve
Quarrella guy too . I also got to meet a fan who lives
here in Memphis by "meeting" him on the WHO echo. He loaned
me about six tapes so I could get introduced to William
Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and see some more of Jon
Pertwee.
He has on one of the tapes a short sort of documentary
called RESISTANCE IS USELESS. It has lots of short clips
from the episodes.
TT> If only we could get that bastard Norman to move to

I have heard that she is a really good stand up comic, maybe
the writers just didn't take into account *her* special
talents that would have made the role into something that
was funnier. Maybe I'm wrong, but that is just a feeling I
had about her in the part of Holly.

Yeah, but even a modern "Boomer" with a 50 (or so) foot

Of course "SeaView" wasn't a real sub, just a CVN with a
