COMMENTS:
Well, I guess it is "official," the best Star Wars novel is Dark Apprentice.
I myself did not vote for it, but it was my second choice, I picked Darksaber.
I was surprised that Splinter of the Mind's Eye got 3 votes. That is the only
one I have not read. I have had it for about 2 years and got half way through
it but it actually "hurt" to read it. I may finish it one day, (start over
really,) but I don't know. It was just bad in my opinion. But since it did
get some votes, and I have heard some good things about it I am going to give
it a second shot. Anyone out there that has not read a book and is looking
for one, or more, should read Anderon's four books, I guess the people have
spoke.
14. What is your favorite ship from the game X-Wing?
Total responses: 34
A. X-Wing 35% 12 votes
B. A-Wing 15% 5 votes
C. Y-Wing 3% 1 vote
D. B-Wing 3% 1 vote
E. Do not play it 44% 15 votes
COMMENTS:
No real surprised here, it's almost exactly what I expected.
15. What is your favorite ship from the game TIE Fighter?
Total responses: 34
A. TIE Fighter 3% 1 vote
B. TIE Interceptor 21% 7 votes
D. TIE Advanced 15% 5 votes
E. TIE Defender 12% 4 votes
F. Assault Gunboat 3% 1 vote
G. Missile Boat 3% 1 vote
H. Do not play it 44% 15 votes
COMMENTS:
This question was one of the BIG surprises out of the entire survey. I have
to say I thought the TIE Advanced or Defender was going to win hands down, but
the people have spoke, and the absolute best ship to fly in TIE Fighter is the
TIE Interceptor.
16. What is the best fighter overall from both games?
Total responses: 34
A. X-Wing 12% 4 votes
B. A-Wing 3% 1 vote
C. Y-Wing 3% 1 vote
D. B-Wing 3% 1 vote
F. TIE Interceptor 18% 6 votes
H. TIE Advanced 3% 1 vote
I. TIE Defender 15% 5 votes
K. Missile Boat 3% 1 vote
L. Do not play them 41% 14 votes
COMMENTS:
After question 15 this was not a surprise, but still, the Interceptor is the
best!
17. Do you think the original movies should be re-released in the theater?
Total responses: 35
A. Yes 88% 31 votes
B. No 11% 4 votes
COMMENTS:
This one was obvious. I was surprised to see that as many as four people
said they should not release them for a second time. I can see where they
might be coming from however, perhaps it will just lose it's appeal it had
the first time. I think we all know and believe (and hate) the fact that it
has become way to commercialized, and if you missed it the first time you can
believe me you will NOT be reliving when it first came out. Nothing will
ever capture that feeling again. It will almost be depressing to go and see
the re-releases.
18. Do you think the original movies, when re-released, should be changed
at all, including added footage, new FX, etc.?
Total responses: 36
A. Yes 66% 24 votes
B. No 33% 12 votes
COMMENTS:
I was surprised here actually. Although I voted no, I thought I would be
one of very, very few people. I was pleased to see that I am not alone.
Although obviously in the minority it's still good to know some people want
classic movies kept classic.
19. In the new movies, the prequels, do you think they should open the same
way as the others. Meaning no credits, just STAR WARS and then a brief
history on events going back into space?
Total responses: 35
A. Yes 100% 35 votes
B. No 0% 0 votes
COMMENTS:
No comments really on this one. I'm glad everyone who replied thinks they
should be kept the same as the first movies. It would ruin it to have it
any other way.
20. What is your favorite bounty hunter from the movies?

I was pleasantly surprised here. Although we all don't have much to judge
any of the hunters on, seeing as how each never had much on screen time, out
of all of them Greedo had the most, even more than Boba Fett. So when I
picked I really had to judge on who looked the coolest, so I voted for
Zuckuss, he really does look the most original and most menacing. Greedo
would have been my second choice. I was expecting Boba Fett to walk away with
this one, and he was until very recently where Greedo fans just started
pouring in. So, I guess the coolest, best bounty hunter in Star Wars is
Greedo 'da Man!
21. What is the best movie?
Total responses: 35
A. Star Wars: A New Hope 11% 4 votes
B. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back 40% 14 votes
C. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi 6% 2 votes
D. All of them 43% 15 votes
COMMENTS:
Again, surprised here. I was expecting A New Hope to win it all. I picked
all of them only because on some days I like this one, and on others I like
this one. At this moment I would watch Empire, but tomorrow I would maybe
want to watch A New Hope, it's just what I feel like on each day. I know
choice D was kind of a cheap way out, but I know how people feel on given days
and what one they feel like watching. But taking choice D out.. just look!
Empire walked away with it easily. If choice D would not have been there I'm
betting Empire would have gotten even more votes. I believe the reason people
picked it is because it was paced good, had a good story, it didn't overdue
the fight/battle scenes, it had romance, the training and coming of age of
a young man, the revelation of Vader being his father, just that entire feel
to it.
22. What is your favorite Imperial trooper from the movies?
Total responses: 35
A. Stormtrooper (includes Sandtrooper) 26% 9 votes
B. Scout Trooper 17% 6 votes
C. Snow Trooper 23% 8 votes
D. TIE Pilot 17% 6 votes
E. Walker Pilot 6% 2 votes
F. Security Guards 6% 2 votes
G. Death Star Gunners 3% 1 vote
H. Scout Walker Pilot 3% 1 vote
COMMENTS:
Not to surprised on this one. I was hoping the Snow Trooper would win, and it
did until the last three voters sent off their replies. It is interesting
to note that ALL the listed people got at least one vote. I did leave off
the Imperial Guards only because, well, I don't know, when I was writing
the question, at the time, I just had this feeling to not have them on the
list, so I did it.
23. Do you consider the Star Wars Role Playing Game(RPG) as official canon?
Total responses: 35
A. Yes 29% 10 votes
B. No 71% 25 votes
COMMENTS:
Surprised. As you all know by now, whenever I reply to a message that has to
do with the books, RPG, etc., I just HAVE to include a phrase like, "Well,
although it is not true Star Wars..." blah blah, but, after this survey I
have come to realize that MOST actually agree with me, in that they only
consider the MOVIES and nothing else "part of SW." I guess I can cut back
on that, but to me I just feel I have to because there are some young minds
out there that will swallow anything , example: Thrawn, Mara, Eye of
Palpatine, Sun Crusher, etc., stuff like that. But the RPG seemed to me to
have the biggest following. I mean, when I first came here almost three years
ago now if you said the RPG was not true to Star Wars you were cast out! You
were made fun of! You get it. But a lot, in fact most of the stuff in the
RPG is laughable, stupid stuff, background info, stats on the ships, character
statistics of who can do this and that, all that stuff just seemed stupid.
I'm glad to see most agree. Again, I do play it all the time, been game
mastering for years now and although it is getting old and just today of all
days I got back into the TMNT RPG, the SW one has held the most fun over the
years but it is definetly getting old and running out of ideas.
24. How long do you believe an Imperial Star Destroyer is?
Total responses: 35
A. 1 mile 28% 10 votes
B. 2 miles 9% 3 votes
C. 4 miles 17% 6 votes
D. 6 miles 43% 15 votes
E. 8 miles 3% 1 vote
COMMENTS:
No surprise here, anyone who didn't just guess knew they are six miles. That
has been stated by Lucas, a special FX guy who worked on them (I did forget
his name), and even by Steve Sansweet on more than one occasion. True, the
RPG says 1 mile, but that is for ease of play. In my RPG I have them at 6
miles and far more heavily powered than the RPG gives them stats for.
25. How long do you believe a Super Star Destroyer is?
Total responses: 35
A. 4 miles 11% 4 votes
B. 5 miles 14% 5 votes
C. 7 miles 6% 2 votes
D. 13 miles 11% 4 votes
E. 36 miles 52% 18 votes
F. 50 miles 3% 1 vote
G. 65 miles 3% 1 vote
COMMENTS:
Again, no surprise. The official length is 36 miles long, however people get
obviously pick what they want and be as right as they want to them. I didn't
put these questions to see who is "Stupid" or "Smart" or stuff like that, just
wanted to see how long they think they are when they watch the movies, or
think about them, or stuff like that.
26. Do you believe Darth Vader's TIE in A New Hope had a hyperdrive?
Total responses: 35
A. Yes 66% 23 votes
B. No 34% 12 votes
COMMENTS:
I wasn't sure on how this one would turn out. It is never stated in the
movies, and it's up to oneself to believe what they wish. If the results
of this survey were going to be the "official" answers, I guess it would have
indeed had a hyperdrive.
