BC>If your daughter has been diagnosed as having Attention Deficit

BC>your efforts. The "Professional Educators", I use the term under
BC>advisedment, will place her in a "Special" program where she will
BC>get a "Special Diploma" or a Certificate of Attendance rather
BC>than graduate from high school. She then can attempt to get a
BC>General Equivalency Diploma before applying for a job, or work at

BC>I am truly sorry for having to tell you this but I have seen this

It's not what happened to my nephew, who had ADD, attended public

what's considered "normal".

BC>To remain on topic I suggest that you read 'THE HAPPY DAYS AHEAD'
BC>in 'EXPANDED UNIVERSE' (C)opyright 1980 by Robert A. Heinlein.

One of his poorest efforts ever, because, atypical for Heinlein, he
doesn't "play fair" with his premises - he just decrees that an
other-than-totally-pessimistic outlook must by definition be a
_mindlessly_ happy outlook.

In other essays collected in that same volume, he also indicates his
absolute certainty that the collapse of civiliation due to full-scale
nuclear exchange between the USA and the USSR, and that the only people
who would survive would be those who withdrew themselves from urban
centers and set up well-stocked shelters for themselves. Have you
checked out the actual geopolitical situation lately?

Yow All !! Where the hell are you ??

recently: I sawa list with the mistakes in Star Trek : generations. Here it
comes:

-Soran hits Lursa's head and she starts bleeding....red blood. In 'the
undiscovered country' however, klingons have purple blood.

-When Picard request 'exchange of hostages' they say that Picard has to be
beamed to their ship first, en then they will beam him to Veridian III .When
Picard lands on Veridian III , we see a federation transporter beam in stead of
a klingon one.

-Veridian III : a 'western'-image of Kirk with black pants -> Kirk's pants are
supposed to have red line on the sides, which are missing in this scene.

-The klingons are getting de shield frequency of the Enterprise .Riker is
seeking desperate solutions. Why didn't he changed the shield-frequency like he
did in 'The best of both worlds' ??

If somebody has found other mistakes (not necessarely in 'generations'), please
let me know.

Greetings from The Prince of Darkness,

                                        Jeroen

DL> stories like that for several reasons. First, I really
DL> like fanciful stories. I'm a bit of a romantic. Second,

You'll love the Wrede work. And how about Pamela Dean, too?
Latest is THE DUBIOUS HILLS. I also discovered C. Dale Brittain-- the first two
books about A BAD SPELL IN YURT and THE WOOD NYMPH AND THE CRANKY SAINT. Very
accessible but still with the sense of the fantastic. You have, I trust,
already read Tolkien and Lewis?

DL> as a writer, I like seeing how everyone else does it.

Oh, then have you tried the writing echoes? There's PROWRITE for the contracts
and business end, and there's NON-FICTION for the article writers, but I like to
lurk on WRITING. It has a lot of chat and some of it can be skipped, but
overall I enjoy it and have learned a lot. Maybe someday I will post on it.
Also there's poetry echoes and a fun one called BARDROOM for writers to just
talk.

Of course you'll stay here first too. :)

DL> Finally, I'm putting together a library for my children
DL> (assuming I ever get the chance to have any) before the
DL> government decides to take all these books from the
DL> shelves.

Really! Isn't it absurd. They've already taken off all the Mark Twain here,
because "HUCK FINN is racist (!) and the one about the prince is sexist." They
have no sense of irony or concept of satire or sarcasm. They take things too
literally. Or they haven't read it at all and are just trolling for something
to jump on (which is what I think!) Oops, off topic. I think they also banned
some SF novels as "too adult." (!??)
