It was a funny thing, both her and Mr. Spock were among the
things the corporate network fatcats didn't like about "The
Cage." The pilot was also dubbed "too cerebral" is well. They
thing we viewers are a bunch of idiots.
Spock turned out to be one of the most popular characters, I
wonder if the same thing would have happened to Number One.

CL> Yeah, I know what you mean. I was that way about TNG, too. My dad
CL> still refuses to watch DS9, but somehow he tolerates V'ger. I keep
CL> trying to give V'ger the benefit of the doubt. But, to tell you what,

CL> totally new...who knows.
JH> When I first heard about TNG, I thought it would be hard to top
JH> the original. Once it started, I changed my mind. Like you, I
JH> think it got better too.
JH> I enjoy watching DS9, but Voyager, sometimes it's good, while at
JH> other times, outright disappointing. This inconsistency is
JH> slowly starting to push me away. Unless they start coming up
JH> with good scripts, I may write it off too.
CL> I was concerned about DS9 for a while...and really leary about Worf
CL> showing up there. But it seems to shaping up quite nicely. And Worf is
CL> finding a friend in Dax...it's interesing how quickly he replaced
CL> Deanna Troy, isn't it?
Worf's relationship with Odo is somewhat interesting, in fact,
it's beginning to look a little like Odo's relationship with
Quark.
Last month, I got the chance to see Terry Farrel at a
convention. She's a very entertaining speaker. Seeing her
handle a 10 foot albino python was also interesting.
JH> The ghosts of Battlestar Galactica and Space 1999 still haunt me
JH> when I see Voyager.
CL> I really like Battlestar Galactica...but then I was a teenage with a
CL> HUGE crush on Dirk Benedict, too...As for Space 1999, I couldn't stand
CL> it!
CL> Channon
I enjoyed Galactica's first few episodes, but it did later go
down hill for me. It's spinoff, Galactica 1980, was a major
disappointment for me. Space:1999 during its first season had
some good stories, but the second season(which included Fred
Frieberger, the producer of Star Trek's last season, and the
introduction of a shapeshifting alien) really sucked the sewage.
I still have my 2.5 foot long Eagle One playset around here
somewhere. I also have a toy Cylon Raider spaceship, one of the
ones that fires missiles, that were pulled from the market after
a child suffered a choking accident.
To be young again.....
... What can you do at 3 AM? Psssttt - got a modem??

BPL> Some interesting comments on sex and human sexuality have come out of

The 1973 Michael Crichton film "Westworld" dealt with this issue

KA> The source for the article comes from the January 25, 1996 Las Vegas

KA> Hi there everyone!
KA> Living in Las Vegas we get some nice perks: We can lose all our money
KA> at the tables, good cheap food and soon to come, Star Trek:The
KA> Experience!
KA> Recently on January 24th top executives from Hilton Hotels as well as
KA> Paramount Parks held the official groundbreaking ceremony for this
KA> fantastic sounding attraction.
KA> Star Trek:The Experience will be many things. It's 65,000 quare feet
KA> will contain such goodies as a mock up version of the bridge of the
KA> starship Enterprise, a 22 minute long shuttlecraft simulator ride, a
KA> dining and retail area, and a 22,000 square foot casino (this is after
KA> all Las Vegas). The casino area (Spacequest Casino) will feature
KA> windows high above the floor that will simulate the illusion of
KA> orbiting the earth on a space station.
KA> The ceremony was itself rather impressive, they had a simulated
KA> wormhole implosion, and a large fireworks display, that showed itself
KA> in the form of the Star Trek logo with the words Star Trek:The
KA> Experience under that.
KA> Also attending the ceremony were Trek stars, Jonathan Frakes, Gates
KA> McFadden, and Armin Shimerman. Star Trek:The Experience is slated to
KA> open in the spring of 1997.

Back when I had cable, I saw one of those Trek shows on QVC, and
one caller, who was buying another autographed plaque, boasted
