Well, apart from it being impossible as stated (because you can't
accelerate electrons to a speed faster than light and even if you did,
it wouldn't make things younger); it doesn't seem like a terribly
effective weapon, at least not in proportion to the amount of effort
that would go into it. Incidentally, if you did accelerate electrons to
a speed faster than light, it would be more likely that you'd end up
with a weapon that hit it's target in the previous week or something,
retroactively changing reality.

Gibsom's idea that a software program could be transmitted to enable
sufficiently advanced cultures with some form of cyberspace to experience
extraterresterial environments and species without meaningful star travel is an
interesting idea. Wonder what would come of some similar transmission by Terrans
if we tried to encapsulate our life and environment into a virtual reality
program for use by a alien species and technology.
The central battle of the Neuromancer series revolved around just such a virtual
reality program in the cyberspace "nets" which Case uploaded into cyberspace
that produced the Centauri race's virtual reality program, in effect
'contacting' our species through the program playing through the net.
Interesting concept, this by Gibsom.

Everything you've had to say about Kubrick in this echo since the
thread started indicates that you seem to think that life wouldn't be
worth living if he didn't exist.
He's not the only one to see that about you.

Oh, Chris, what a bright guy you are. (not)
You are certainly welcome to your opinion, and while NM is not the
best show on TV it is still darn good. Perhaps it's just over your
head. Not enough shoot outs, car chases and explosions.
I'll grant you that it is not science fiction. I don't think anyone
every claimed it was. It's definately part fantasy, making it
appropriate for this newsgroup. It's mostly an adventure / drama with
some wierdness thrown in for good measure.
Also, he did not have his memory erased. Only his past. (Or, I
should say, records of his past.) Shows how much you're paying
attention...

My local PBS station just started showing the show recently, starting
with the first episode a few months ago. At first I thought it was
really stupid, and while it still is... it's still a lot of fun. The
most recent episode I saw was "Stasis Leak" and man, it was a riot!!!
I was ROTF when Cat attacked that woman's fur shawl!!!
Anyway, I am wondering if my station is not showing them quite in
order. I saw "Kryten" about three or four episodes ago, but he hasn't
been seen since. Is "Kryten" before or after "Stasis Leak"? Better
yet, can someone post all the episodes in order?
