Verhoeven's sci-fi action film _Starship Troopers_. Ironside
last worked with Verhoeven on his hit sci-fi epic _Total
        Recall_.

Ironside joins a cast headed by Casper Van Dien (_James Dean:
Race With Destiny_) that includes Jake Busey, Neil Patrick
Harris, Denise Richards, Dina Meyer and Clancy Brown.

Ironside's feature credits include Free Willy, Scanners, Father
Hood, Top Gun and Highlander 2.

Okay. Most of those names are unfamiliar even to me, but Harris starred
in Doogie Howser, Jake Busey is Gary's kid, and Clancy Brown is a known
quantity to anyone who's a Buckaroo Banzai fan, or for that matter a
Highlander fan; he's the original Kurgan. Ironside has a talent for
playing intense, gimlet-eyed types; any guesses who he'll be cast as?

From a dark bottomless pit,Tony Trujillo screamed up to All about
 Sliders is BACK!..

 TT> ...and so am I! :^)

TT> I haven't had a chance to watch it but I'm extremely happy
TT> to hear that SLIDERS (one of the best neatest little SF shows
TT> since QUANTUM LEAP) is back on the air. Are there any fans (other
TT> than Kay Shapero) of the show who'd like to discuss it? I was very
TT> pleased to hear that they were able to get all of the cast back for
 TT> the new shows...especially JRD.

Hi Tony! Long time no see! You know, I'm glad Sliders is back. I really
enjoyed the show previously, but I'm disappointed that Strange Luck is gone.
I really liked it too. And I'm gonna have to watch Sliders to see if the
sacrifice was worth it. From what I remember about it from the last time I
watched it, it was a show with great potiental, but not well utilized. I
 guess we'll see, eh?

HT>.ED> Gerry Anderson's best hope for mixing miniature model animation and
HT>.ED> live action was *Space: 1999* but it died a premature syndication
HT>.ED> ratings death because of continunity flaws.

HT>Yeah. Though some episodes were quite decent in what they tried to
HT>portray.

HT>*Astroboy*! I haven't heard that name since...well, anyway, it's been
HT>awhile. While weak on science, they were both more entertaining than some
HT>of the drivel I've seen put forth lately as children's TV.

HT>I even had a pair of sneakers that made the same sound as Astroboy did
HT>when he walked. (Not by design, just sheer luck.) I think he's out on
HT>tape somewhere for a phenominal sum of money. Didn't he grow up to
HT>become Speed Racer? :)

Astroboy's driving Speed Racer's car during confrontations with
baddies possibly would have assisted Speed in doing bad guys in much
less violently! :D

   Your comment re *Rocky Jones*:

HT>I must say, I don't remember him at all. And, I missed the reruns, too. :(

Rocky reran the first three months of KHTV's operational life. After
the station got sufficient quantities of recent syndicated programs,
Rocky was quietly moved off the scene.

HT>.ED>Is *Rocky Jones* availabl . . ? I understand that *Tom
HT>.EDCorbett* was assisted by Robert Heinlein and even based on *Space
HT>.ED>Cadet* the second Heinlein juvenile SF novel and I'd be intersted
HT>.ED>in it too.

HT>I don't know. I wouldn't mind seeing those shows again. While the F/X
HT>such as they were, are crude by today's standards, the stories certainly
HT>kept you on the edge of your seat.

Wonderous were the infrequent gems of science fiction dramas and
kidvid dramas in the early years of American SF on TV due to the space
program. *Supercar* was fairly realistic as a Gerry Anderson adaption of
an Robert A. Heinlein Tricar of his juvenile & adult novels and novellas
of the 1950's and 1960's.

*Fireball XL-5* presaged the winged/manned atmospheric reentry
spacecraft of the 1990's and presaged interstellar flight in a kidvid
way.

While *Astroboy* proved to be science fantasy, the level of thought
required of a 10 year old about choices and values by Astroboy in his
flights of mercy were and are rare in kidvid SF even today

HT>..."There he goes, ASTROBOY...."

I wonder how much of Astroboy might be recycliable TV Science Fantasy
now? Probably not because *Astroboy* and all such shows mentioned in our
thread were very violent according to 1996 US and Candaian children's TV
standards.

Mars would lose air, true, but at a rate that would require no

Hello All,

Here in Holland we are currently in season 2 of Bab5. Is there an episode list
available which covers *all* seasons from Bab5 up until the latest episode in
the States ? Could someone mail me this list (netmail would be fine: don't
attach it :-) ?

It would be nice if it was something like the reviews that Tim Lynch did of
ST:TNG and DS9.
