RS>somewhere that this was a sign of hope. The last time we saw an
RS>expression of G'Kar and his candles was when he squished the last
RS>one out as Narn fell.... Is this a symbol of false hope, or is
RS>JMS foreshadowing something good about to happen? I think its
 RS>the former...

I think it's mostly a symbol of G'Kar having regained his own feelings of hope,
even if what he hopes for has been changed. He acts like a man who's been
released from heavy stress. I think something good will happen - however I also
think a lot of not-so-good is going to happen first.

RS>Most importantally, how is Babylon 5 going to react/survive to an
RS>attack by Earth? There is the starfury vs. starfury duel in the
RS>opening credits, but this tells nothing of what will or won't
 RS>happen to B5 itself...

I was surprised when they got out of this one without making the break - if
Severed Dreams doesn't cause it I don't know what will.

RS>* Is this related to the rest of the Babylon Squared (they find
RS>B4) storyline that will be resolved in War Without End at the end
RS>of this season? Is this perhaps the reason they need B4?

Actually there are several more episodes after War Without End before we reach
the end of the season proper - though it looks like the Idiots That Be are going
to make us wait through the summer for the last few eps. Again.. Here's what
I've got for the rest of this season.

Severed Dreams
Ceremonies of Light and Dark
A Late Delivery from Avalon
Sic Transit Vir
Ship of Tears
Interludes and Examinations
War Without End, Part 1
War Without end, Part 2
Walkabout
Grey 17 is Missing
And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place
Shadow Dancing
[one more episode JMS won't tell us the title for]

RS>* The people were happy when General Hague's (spelling?) cruiser
RS>escaped from the pursuing ones. Does this mean that B5 will be
RS>able to win the support of the humans on board?

I think it means that Clarke is not as popular as he'd like to be. When it
comes to actual breakaway though... who knows?

RS>* How long will G'Kar continue to believe that what he saw was
RS>G'Quan (spelling?), or will Kosh never reveal himself to G'Kar?
RS>Perhaps G'Kar is better off not knowing, being that he has
RS>written (while in jail) the future Book of G'Kar...

I'm not completely convinced the Vorlons didn't have a hand in G'Quan's era
either... In any case, no, I don't think Kosh will ever tell him. I think the
Vorlons are far too self-protective (verging on the paranoid) for that which may
explain why the're still around, come to think of it. :->

Perhaps it should have, but tactics enter into such situations as
well. A friend of mine videotaped the episode and counted the shots
fired. Enterprise was hit well over twenty times before they fired
back even once. Worse, when they Enterprise *does* shoot back,
usually they fire once or twice, then stop...to assess the results
and/or try to talk.

The Klingons, meanwhile, send three ships, which work together to
hammer the living daylights out of the enemy with *non-stop* barrages
of fire. Sure, Enterprise-D is a superior vessel--but the Klingons
have vastly superior tactics and strategy.
It comes as no surprise to *me* that the Klingons were kicking the
Federation's butt in that timeline!

I rewatched the episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" and did a bit of
tecnical research. I found that the Bird of Pray desigin is used
in scout class, destroyer class and cruiser class. What hit the
Enterprise in "Yesterday's ..." were 3 Ka'vort class cruisers. These
crusers are just a step below the Vor'cha class battle cruiser.
