-> Did either of you see the 2-9 episode that is to be continued? This one has
-> truly kept me on the edge of my seat wondering exactly "what" is inhabiting
-> all these people. With the black "roling" eyes, the mystery is even more
-> powerful, because that's all that is evident until "it" explodes into
-> radiation. It appears, to me, that "it" is "getting back" at someone.
I've now seen the 2nd part of the two-parter. They had to work fast and
furious to try and tie up so mnay of the threads. It always angers me when
Scully and Mulder are whisked off at the last minute when they get too "close"
to something. Krycek ends off the episode neatly locked up in the radiation
chamber - somehow I think it's not the last we see of him.
The more I see of Cancer Man the more I hate that character. He's just too
damn pompous! Doesn't ANYTHING intimidate him or get his goat? Even when he
gets "in dutch" with his superiors it is never anything which seems to make him
blink. I guess that's part of the reason he is such an effective "foil" up
against Scully and Mulder. I was pleased, however, that Scully and Mulder were
much more pleasant - even caring toward each other in this two-parter. I was
wondering where things were going a few episodes back. It seemed like the big
"diaspora" in the relationship at that time.
I notice that in this recetn episode we were getting "voice overs" for Scully
now too. Some people don't like them but I do. It's a technique used in
literature all the time - showing the inner thoughts of a character. So long
as it's not over-used the technique has some benefits.
Cheers,
-Rob

Here's a question for readers of SF out there. Have you read any good books or
short stories containing the process of TERRAFORMING? The process was used in
a Star Trek movie but I want to explore the idea further in fiction.
TERRAFORMING is the process of turning an unihabitable planet into one with the
environmentet suitable for human habitation without the need for life-support,
self-contained air-supply, protective suits, etc.
I hope someone has come across material dealing with this subject.
A reply is requested here or directly to me at my address below:

At least until the *real* bad guys showed up, yes. (And *if* real baddies
showed up. It could be a scam. Humans already know what a `protection' racket

This is entirely off topic here. But to answer your question, both have
happened many times in US history. The vast difference is that a lot of crimes
committed by females are/were hushed up. Very recently a woman in Florida posed
as a prostitute to kill men and rob them. I think she got 6 before she was
caught.
And have you ever heard that song by the BoomTown Rats called "I don't like
Mondays?" It is based on a true story. A 15 year old girl took her father's
rifle to school and killed several people because "Mondays are boring."
Please do NOT answer me in this echo.

I don't know if my message to the sysop has reached you yet, but I
have found what I was looking for. The name of the movie is "La Jette"
The Jetty. Have you seen the Twelve Monkies yet? When you watch it,
even though the reason for the worlds destruction has changed, the basic
plot of the story is almost identical. Terri Gillium, in my opinion,
is a master genius of visual filmmaking. Let me know what you think! :)

BPL> My degree is University of Pittsburgh 1983.
BC> The date of your degree tells me that you are , in all
BC> probability, the child of baby-boom parents,
Precocious Boomers, indeed. With a degree date of 1983, it is likely that BPL
was born about 1961 (assuming a 4-year degree begun immediately after high
school completion). The Baby Boom ran from 1947 through about 1960. If BPL's
parents were Boomers, they were, at most 14 years old at the time of his birth.
Statistically speaking, a much larger percentage than normal of Boomers put off
having children until well into their thirties. The so-called Generation-X
(named, paradoxically, after a Punk band full of Bay Boomers) are not, for the
most part, the children of Boomers, but rather their younger siblings.
